1/2004-12/2006: Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering . Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers ( ENSAM - French Ivy League Engineering School), Paris. Focus on Emotional and Sensory Design. Obtained with Honors.

9/2002-9/2003: Masters in Product Design , ENSAM . Obtained with honors.

9/1997-6/2001: B.S. in Product Design, Stanford University.

9/1996-6/1997: Scientific Preparatory School , Lycée Fénelon , Paris.

9/1989-6/1996: French Scientific Baccalaureate , Bilingual School in Paris (EABJM). Obtained with honors.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1/2004-2/2007: Design Consultant, CTBA (Centre Technique du Bois et de l'Ameublement), Paris. Created and managed the Emotional Design Department to help clients design emotionnaly appealing products. Uncovered key product features and why they are meaningful to users through innovative user interviewing and testing. Clients include Steelcase (design of an office chair), Dunlopillo (design of a relaxation chair) and Gautier (design of kids' furniture). Design of a ‘Sensory Experience Booth' at the 2007 Paris Furniture Fair to promote the Emotional Design Department.

4/2002-Currently: Creator and Manager of the Disc Hub ( www.TheDiscHub.com ) Design, manufacturing and distribution of an innovative media storage solution (30,000 + units sold). Innovative low-cost internet marketing campaign targeting influential bloggers, trendsetters and « cool hunters ». US and european patents. Licensing agreement sold to Fellowes.

4/2001-Currently: Freelance Designer. Projects include design of a multi-sensory animated screen for Presensia, a range of cosmetic products for Umira and a family of products for PYLONES USA.

10/2002-9/2003: Designer, Absolut Reality Product Design Firm, Paris. Projects include design of a portable phone for Doro Matra, a refrigerator for Brandt, a cosmetics dispenser for Bourjois. Introduction of new tools into the design process: brainstorming sessions, user observation and extensive prototyping.

3/2002-7/2002: Interior Designer, Picquier & Protiere Interior Design Firm, Paris.

LANGUAGES & SKILLS

Bilingual in French/ English. Dual citizenship: USA / France. Fluent in German. Proficient in Spanish.

Computer Skills: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, SolidWorks, Dreamweaver, Powerpoint.

Rapid prototyping skills: machining (lathe, mill, CNC machining), casting, welding, laser cutting, vacuum forming.
