Benchmarking
The first step was to analyse existing products:
- What do whitening products look like?
- What product features from European brands are well perceived in China?
- Etc
The benchmarking of the competition allowed us to gain a point of view on the design problem:
- Sober packaging design, with clear lines and soft geometric shapes.
- Embossed integration of the Umira logo onto the caps of the products.
- Materials: plastic & aluminium finish
An iterative design process
We followed an iterative design process:
- Express: Brainstorming sessions generate as many product concepts as possible.
- Test: The prototypes are shown to users for feedback.
- Cycle: The feedback is used as an input for new brainstorming sessions
